The “founding father” of chiropractic, Dr. D.D. Palmer, developed a theory that spinal misalignment caused nerve pressure or irritation which in turn caused various ailments. He realized that the structure and condition of the body influenced how the body functioned and its ability to heal itself, without the use of drugs or surgery.

Chiropractic is based on the principle that spinal joint misalignments interfere with the nervous system and can result in lower resistance to disease and many different conditions of diminished health. The pathways the nerves travel become blocked or reduced thus creating pain, Dr Santoro is an expert in addressing these obstructions, re aligning the pathways allowing you to accomplish a pain free, fulfilled life.

Dr Santoro diagnoses and treats patients with health problems of the musculoskeletal system and the subsequent effects on the nervous system and overall quality of life.

Dr Santoro provides natural, drugless, nonsurgical health treatments, relying on the body’s inherent recuperative abilities.

Chiropractic care is based on the premise that the body is a self-healing organism, and when in its optimum state, it will self-regulate. The body does all of this through the nervous system, starting in the brain and communicating with all the organs and controlling blood flow organ function at the optimal level. When the body’s nervous system is able to function correctly, the body can work well.

However, when the nervous system is blocked because of an interruption or dislocation in the spine, this causes issues in communication and there is a breakdown between the brain and the body functions. Chiropractors refer to this dislocation as vertebral subluxation. Chiropractic care offers the finding and adjusting of the spinal structures to come into alignment so the nervous system will work properly. Subluxation over time can cause conditions that result in symptoms, but can also be asymptomatic. Chiropractors are trained to assess the vertebrae and adjust the spine to aid in the nervous system working properly so the body can do its job and self-heal and self-regulate through communication.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any symptoms or if you have been diagnosed with a disease or condition, your body and health can benefit from a spine without subluxation. Keeping your spine healthy can be as critical to your overall wellness as is eating for proper nutrition. Having a healthy spine is crucial to having good health. Our chiropractic care is a method of removing spinal damage so your body may work better and heal itself.

If a patient comes into us for chiropractic care, we do an evaluation to see where subluxation is occurring. As stated above, some patients come in and don’t experience symptoms of subluxation, but may be experiencing a disorder or condition as a result. After finding where the subluxation is, we will aid the bones in moving back into place to restore the communication through the nervous system. Clearing up this issue of vertebral subluxation complex (meaning the bones of the spine are dislocated in many places) can take time to get the body to accept the proper positioning.

While some people don’t experience symptoms, getting subluxation is preventative to keep the body from experiencing subluxation related illnesses. In other people, they will see major results in getting chiropractic care. For others still it can mean a difference between a life of experiencing health, gaining strength and living with vitality instead of seeking by each day with disability, weakness and experiencing debilitating illnesses. The chiropractic approach we use helps to relocate your spine so your body may work better and begin to heal itself. By correcting any vertebral subluxation complex your body will be able to use its healing ability so it is better able to address your overall needs naturally.

Are you and your family carrying the vertebral subluxation complex in your spine? Only a chiropractic spinal checkup can tell.
